‘Air Bud’ is a pop culture institution and a movie crush to many who grew up with the original franchise, and as creator/director Robert Vince noted this week, it’s now a movie those people now show their kids. So the love for ‘Air Bud’ continues on, but there are some other movie franchises I feel we need to show that level of love to as well. So let’s take a look at some movie franchise crushes that I love and think everyone should love a lot more.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid
The original live-action cast can not be beat. Whatever they did when the OGs got too old, that’s a no from me dog BUT the first wave of these movies? Perfection. They came out in the 2000s but really captured that ‘90s kid movie vibe – which is why I likely loved it so much.
Alvin and the Chipmunks
I’m gonna need people to start putting some respect on these chipmunks’ names.

Madagascar
If you haven’t seen all of them, please do so now.
The Mighty Ducks
I just saw this trilogy on a “worst” list and like, REALLY?!
Kung Fu Panda
More adults need to start appreciating the genius and hilarity of these films.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I’m talking about the ones with Megan Fox. They were not that bad. Plus, Bebop and Rocksteady were phenomenal in that.
The Flintstones
The live-action movie and ‘The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones?’ Okay, this is just a ploy to get the latter streaming anywhere because I love it so.
Star Wars
The ones with Jar Jar…yeah, I said it.
Monsters, Inc.
I know the original has a lot of fandom behind it and that the prequel made some noise. However, there is a Disney+ series that got great reviews and a second season but it felt like absolutely no one but myself was watching and absolutely loving it.
